Greetings Folks,
It was good seeing everyone at the Freedom Rally yesterday, and I hope everyone
made it home safely. I am writing tonight to share some good news that I
received today.
In one of my stops yesterday I had the opportunity to meet with one of David
Koon's staffers whom I discussed the A05980 legislation with and mentioned to
him some of our rationale for opposing that bill.
I am pleased to report that I received a phone call from that gentleman this
afternoon informing me that David Koon would be withdrawing his name and support
for that bill. I expressed our thanks to him and mentioned additionally that it
would be appreciated if he were willing to counsel his peers to also withdraw
their support and effectively drop the bill in entirety.
We still have work to do on this bill, but this is a sign of progress and a step
in the right direction. I am not sure if the petition I wrote for this is
available online yet, but I will make sure to have it available for you to
download and distribute throughout the state in short order. It would be great
to drop a pile of signatures on the desk of each of these representatives
sponsoring the bill and give them reason to reconsider their support.
Please contact me with any questions or suggestions.
Sincerely,
Eric Carlston
